Privacy Notice – The Paper Punter (thepaperpunter.uk)

1. Who is responsible for your data
The controller is Neil Bruce, an individual who runs The Paper Punter as a free, non-commercial hobby site. Contact: hello@thepaperpunter.uk. Neil Bruce has paid the data protection fee to the ICO (the UK data protection regulator, now formally the Information Commission); the registration number will be added here once it is issued. A Data Protection Officer has not been appointed because UK GDPR Article 37 does not require one for processing like this (it is not carried out by a public authority and does not involve large-scale regular and systematic monitoring or large-scale special category data).
2. The short version
The Paper Punter is a horse racing site. We have no accounts, payments, analytics, newsletter, forms or embedded third-party content, and we never sell your data. The only personal data we handle is in our host's server logs and in emails you choose to send us.
3. What we collect, why, and our lawful basis

We do not use your data for automated decisions with legal or similar effects. We don't knowingly collect data from under-18s.
4. Who we share it with
Only service providers acting for us: Cloudflare, Inc. (website hosting and email forwarding) and Microsoft (Outlook.com email mailbox). We may disclose data if the law requires it. We never sell it.
5. International transfers
Our site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and email sent to our contact address passes through Cloudflare Email Routing, which forwards it to our mailbox at Microsoft Outlook.com. Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the United States and runs a global network, so your request may be handled at the Cloudflare data centre nearest to you, and log data about it is processed in Cloudflare's data centres in the US and Europe. Cloudflare Email Routing forwards messages without storing their content.
Where personal data is transferred from the UK to the US, Cloudflare relies on its certification to the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (which the UK recognises through adequacy regulations), with the EU Standard Contractual Clauses plus the UK International Data Transfer Addendum as a fallback and for transfers to other countries. These safeguards are set out in Cloudflare's Data Processing Addendum. Emails we receive are stored in our Microsoft Outlook.com mailbox, which may be held in the US or other countries where Microsoft operates. Microsoft Corporation is certified to the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and Microsoft also uses Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers. You can ask us for more details about these safeguards.
6. Your rights
You can ask to: access your data; correct it; delete it; restrict use; object to use (including where we rely on legitimate interests); and data portability where it applies. Email hello@thepaperpunter.uk. We'll reply within one month (extendable in some cases). It's free in most cases.
7. Complaints
